Dr. Kostas Karpouzis (Dipl. Ing, PhD, SMIEEE) is a Research Director at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems of NTUA (ICCS-NTUA) and the Head of Games Programming at SAE Athens. His research interests include affective computing, intelligent systems and artificial intelligence, and serious games. He has worked on the Siren and Navigo games, which won the Best Serious Game in Europe award by the Serious Games Society in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He is a 3x TEDx speaker, the chairman of the board for the Hellenic Association of Computer Engineers and member of the board of the gi-cluster of gaming companies and research organisations.
